Business Administration

About the course 

The Level 3 Business & Administration Apprenticeship is particularly suitable for those working as administrative officers/executives, team leaders, office supervisors, personal assistants and secretaries. The topic areas are designed to help build the knowledge, skills and behaviours to achieve the end point assessment which is taken at the end of the apprenticeship through an independent assessment organisation. 

Course Structure 

The duration of this programme is 12 –18 months to complete. and students are expected to attend all the monthly training sessions with their assigned tutor at Croydonsam Training. Alongside the 12 months programme, your assigned tutor will support you to complete and achieve your level 3 diploma + Functional skills Maths and English level 2.  

As part of the programme, reviews will be held every 8-12 weeks with your assigned tutor. These reviews are important as they will support you to gather the relevant evidence for your portfolio which will include direct observations.  

Course Content:  

The course covers a wide range of topic areas such as 

  • Communication 
  • Finance 
  • Business processes 
  • Understanding the business environment etc.   

Entry Requirements 

Math and English GCSEs C/4 or above or Functional skills level 2 

Apprentices without English or Math’s at Level 2 must achieve this prior to taking the end point assessment. 

Assessment Method: 

Portfolio of evidence and EPA 

Qualification: Level 3 Business and Administration  

Course Mode: Full time 

Progression route? 

On completion of this programme, you can progress to Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Business & Professional Administration, Chartered Management degree in Business or into other further education courses in management and business-related field. 

About the course:

The Business Administration qualification is suited for those who would like to develop their skills in order to successfully work in a business environment.

Course Structure:

This course comprises of compulsory and optional units. Students are expected to obtain at least 45 credits in order to qualify for this award.

The criteria are as follows:

  1. 21 credits from the compulsory units in Group A
  2. A minimum of 14 credits must be achieved from Group B
  3. A maximum of 10 credits must be achieved from Group C

Course Content: 

  1. Communication in a business environment
  2. Principles of providing administrative services
  3. Principles of business document production and information management
  4. Understand employer organisations
  5. Manage personal performance and development
  6. Develop working relationships with colleagues

What are the entry requirements?

The entry requirements for this course is 3 GCSEs at grade A* – D; this includes Maths and English. Students wishing to join the course must currently work in a Business environment or have an employer that is willing to hire you in this area. You must be at least 16 years of age.

Qualification: Business Administration Level 2

Start Date: The Diploma course can be studied at any time during the year, however, this is subject to the number of students.

Course Mode: Part time

Assessment Method:

You will be assessed by your assessor using a portfolio of evidence or e-portfolio, practical demonstrations and assignments. You will be assessed both in the college and in your place of work.

Progression route?

Through achieving this qualification you will be able to progress onto the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Business or may you apply for the following job roles:

  1. Administrator / Business Support Officer
  2. Office Junior
  3. Receptionist

About the course 

This apprenticeship is suited to first line management roles providing direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of goals set. 

Key responsibilities are likely to include supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems and building relationships internally and externally. 

 

Course Structure

During their training, apprentices will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected from a competent Team Leader Apprentice. Alongside the 12 months programme, your assigned tutor will support you to complete and achieve your Team Leader Apprenticeship – Level 3 + Functional skills Maths and English level 2
