What are the entry requirements?
Universities require learners to have GCSEs/Functional Skills Mathematics and English at a level 2 to progress onto a degree in nursing and Croydon SAM can help you obtain these alongside your Access Course. If you need to achieve either your Functional Skills Mathematics or English qualifications, we will enroll you onto those when you join the Access Course and you will study for those courses as well as your chosen Access course.
There are no standard entry qualifications for Access courses: in order to succeed due to the intensive study nature of the course, learners must have good English and Mathematics skills, you must be fully committed to hard work as well as maintaining full attendance (100%) throughout the course
All applicants will be required to take an English and Mathematics initial assessment to assess their suitability for the course, regardless of previous qualifications. You must achieve a Level 2 in English and at least a Level 1 in Mathematics to be accepted on this course.
If successful, applicants will then be invited for an interview to ensure that the course is the right choice for them. If you are not quite ready for the Access course, we may offer you another course that will prepare you for the Access to Nursing course.
