About the course:

This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to work in the Early Years sector. It provides the knowledge and skills required for Early Years Educators. It is suitable for those who work, or want to work within the Early Years sector in England and provides learners with an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and competence to care for children from birth to five years.

Course Structure:

To achieve the Level 3 Diploma students must obtain a minimum of 67 QCF credits.

  2. Assessment planning in early years settings
  3. Continuing professional development for early years practitioners
  4. Equality, diversity and inclusion for early years practitioners
  5. Health, safety and security procedures in early years settings
  6. Personal care and wellbeing for children in early years settings
  7. Plan and lead activities and educational programmes
  8. Providing children with additional support in early years
  9. Safeguarding children in early year’s settings

Entry requirement

In order to complete the qualification, students must have a GCSE grade C and above in Maths and English. Students will be required to take initial assessments prior to their place on the course being confirmed.

Do You Need To Be Working To Take The Qualification?

Yes, in order to take the qualification, the student will need to either be working, volunteering or on practical placements to demonstrate competence in both knowledge and skills.

Assessment Method:

The assessor will come to the workplace of the students, which is where the observation will take place. Prior to the observation, the assessor will assist in portfolio building and observations.

Progression route?

Through achieving this qualification you will be able to progress into employment working with children from 0 to 5 years in roles such as Early Years Educator, Nursery Nurse, Child Minder, and Preschool Assistant.

Learners could also progress to further study or training such as level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (England)

Course Duration: The course lasts for approximately 12 – 28 months.

Start Dates: Every September /April. For those studying EYE through the apprenticeship route, there is no set time. Student can start the course at any time.

Course Costs: The course fee is £2,880.00. However, some students may be eligible for the loan facility which may be used to pay for the course. For more information about the loan, feel free to contact us. This fee does not apply to apprenticeship students
