About the course:

The 1 Day Emergency at Work First Aid training course is a Level 2 Award. Anyone who successfully completes the course is formally qualified emergency first aider. The course is recognized by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE).

Our first aid at work courses provides you the training, assessment and certification needed to become a qualified first aider.

The course will equip you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to handle a wide range of emergency situations – from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions. It will enable you to deal with minor injuries and incidents and being able to administer the right treatment swiftly and decisively during a crucial emergency in a controlled and composed manner.

Course Content: 

The syllabus includes but is not limited to:

  1. The role of the first aider
  2. Managing an emergency
  3. Communication and casualty care
  4. Bleeding (minor and severe)
  5. Burns
  6. Choking (adult)
  7. Fainting
  8. Health and safety (first aid) regulations
  9. Resuscitation (adult CPR)
  10. Seizures (adult)
  11. Shock
  12. Unconscious casualty
  13. Record Keeping

Assessment Method: Written assessment and continuous observation by the trainer.

Qualification: Successful candidates will receive a Highfield certificate which is valid for three years. 

Duration: 2 day

What are the entry requirements?

There is no specific requirement. However, the practical nature of this course requires all delegates to have a basic level of general fitness to enable them to physically undertake the procedures detailed in the course syllabus.
