As a Customer Service Apprentice, you will probably work at the front of an employers business and regularly deal with customers. Your duties in most cases will be making sure that customers are dealt with in a positive, reliable and pleasant way. You will attend college one day a week in term time and the remaining time you will be working for your employer. You will also be visited and assessed in the workplace.

What are the entry requirements?

You need 4 GCSEs at grade D or above including Maths and English. You must be employed in a customer service role.

Progression route

When you have achieved your Intermediate Apprenticeship framework you may be able to progress onto an Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3)

Are there any additional costs?

Other costs would include the purchase of text books.

What are the training costs?

If you are aged 16 to 18 when you start your Apprenticeship Programme, there is no charge to you or your employer as this is fully funded by the government. If you are aged 19 or above when you start your Intermediate Apprenticeship, your employer will have to be willing to contribute as the Government will only fund part of the costs of your training. This will be discussed and agreed with your employer.
